10 Simple ways to enjoy life

“Time moves fast, it seems like the days get shorter every year…”

Many of us think that if I`m rich and famous then I will be happy… or the busier I am the more I get done! Why do we never seem to enjoy life as the process? It seems like the only thing that matters is the final goal.

“Goals are the results you want to reach but the system (process) is how you get there”

The problem is the truth that life happens durning the process and the biggest goals we achieve may happen in very old age!

We seem to be angry and frustrated when nothing goes like planned; we dream about this good life and shit loads of money!

Face the truth, are you enjoying your life? Look in the mirror and ask yourself. Be honest…

If the answer is NO then no worries, we have few simple ideas on how to start to enjoy life

    1. Be Present

Easier said than done, right? Our freaking mind just never stops talking… somedays even you are amazed that what kind of stupid non-sense our brain can generate! If we are anxious then we are thinking about the future – something that has never happened, when we are depressed or sad then we are thinking about the past.

The key is to be in the moment. To be honest… sometimes that can be a hell of a challenge. Great article about being present.

    2. Feel alive

What makes you feel alive? Sitting on the couch and watching TV or scrolling your social media? NO no no… be honest again, this makes you even worse. For example, we like to do winter swimming. Why? It makes the heart beat faster and feel like we are living the best life. WE feel alive! For some it is traveling, speed, hiking, training, jumping out from airplanes… find the things that make you feel alive!

    3. Try new things

    try new things

Go out of your comfort zone. Yes, it may seem a little uncomfortable at first, but it will be a good memory in the end. For example, running 100 km. It was hard, really hard but in the end, we felt like we could conquer everything and now this is a great memory and a story. One day when you look back you will be amazed at how many things you did!

    4. Spend time with your family and friends

Most of the time we feel like we need to chase our goals on our own because we feel like nobody else understands us. It can be frustrating and hard for you. Tell your good friends and family your plans and what you expect from them, and you will be amazed that in the end, they will be your biggest supporters.

    5. Emotions are like roller coasters

Emotions come and go. It’s natural and 100% normal. Sometimes we feel like we are flying, and life is so good. Other times we feel like not even getting out of bed. That is life. If we would be happy 100% of the time then there must be some kind of drug involved (just kidding). But remember emotions and feelings always pass. They never stay… So next time when you are sad remember that it’s just temporary!

    6. Believe in yourself

Live the Life of Your Dreams

“When you start living the life of your dreams, there will always be obstacles, doubters, mistakes, and setbacks along the way. But with hard work, perseverance and self-belief there is no limit to what you can achieve.”

You may lose other people’s support. If people who you admire, don´t believe in you, it can hit hard.

Even if this happens, then never stop believing in yourself, never. You are much stronger than you think… you are the crazy bastard who never gives up. Have the hope that it is going to be alright.

Like Bob Marley sings: “Don’t worry about a thing, cause every little thing gonna be alright…” A great article about believing in yourself.

    7. Give back

“The happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more”

Start with little steps. Say thank you, be nice to a waiter. Go and be a volunteer somewhere, spend time with activities that make a difference to others. Help charities, give that dollar to people who might need it more than you. Even though all of the activities might not be fun and enjoyable they give a purpose and meaning to our lives.

One day all the good things come back to you in a way you didn’t expect.

    8. Be happy about small wins

    enjoy life

Doesn’t matter how small your win might be, just be glad about it. For example, If we did a bring-sally up challenge (push-ups) then we knew it was going to be one legendary week. It was a small thing, yes. But it felt so good and we were like little kids jumping around.

Big things are full of small things that led to that! Just enjoy the little things and soon the bigger ones will follow!

    9. Have a time doing nothing

We are always running somewhere… always. We have our schedules full from morning to late at night! We have forgotten how to just sit back and enjoy doing nothing! It’s sitting back and reading a book, talking over dinner with someone you love, just enjoying the small things each day. Plan it because it would not happen without it! Take these mini-attention free times for yourself!

Then you can be sure as well that you won’t feel guilty about it 😉

    10. See challenges as opportunities

Life requires growth, and when that growth stagnates, the discomfort begins to arise… We can’t be happy as a puppy all the time but we can be calm and find peace in ourselves.

Life is just like emotions, it’s one big roller coaster, and what happens at the end of every ride? Yes, it will be safe in the end and everything is calm and you get out from the little cart.

“In the end, everything is going to be okay, you just need to believe it!”
